- Grace Slick's given name is Grace Barnett Wing
- Grace Slick is responsible for the well known quote, "We are the people our parents warned us about"
- Grace Slick is also known as "The Chrome Nun", a nickname given to her by David Crosby
- Grace is still alive and well and an artist in San Francisco
- The Grateful Dead was originally known as "The Warlocks"
- Jerry Garcia's full name was Jerome John "Jerry" Garcia, he was named after composer Jerome Kern
- Jerry Garcia's right middle finger was cut off accidentally by his brother, Tiff, while chopping wood on a family camping trip
- He played at the inauguration of the Summer of Love, the Human Be-In, in 1967 in the heart of the Haight
- Of course Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, Cherry Garcia is named after him, but did you know Jerry wanted a "piece of the action" for the privilege?
- Jerry Garcia died on August 9th, 1995 of a heart attack while at the Serenity Knolls drug rehab in California
