THE AMARETTO MANGO MARTINI
This is what happens when you tango with a mango and vodka!
Ingredients: Mango Vodka, Amaretto liqueur, Half & Half, Mango
The Amaretto in my Amaretto Mango Martini is an almond flavored liqueur made either from a base of almonds, peach pits or both which makes it a really nice mix with mango. Amaretto is a diminutive of the Italian word amaro, which translates to "bitter" - and the drupe kernel of the apricot does often lend that bitter quality. It is offset by the sweet almond flavors of the liqueur and by the mango vodka in this recipe.
This is a really interesting use of the lovely mango infused vodkas available out there now. A nice variation on this would be to leave out the half & half and drizzle a little honey over the martini at the end.
This is really nice served up with some of those great Amaretto Cookies or an Amaretto Cake for dessert!
