The Blackberry Bramble Martini is chock full of the good things we're all trying to add to our diets for longer and healthier lives. If you're looking for healthy and delicious you can't ask for more than this blackberry infused martini!
Blackberries bring in a bunch of antioxidants (which fight free radicals) as well as polyphenols and anthocyanins (which are known to help prevent cancer and heart disease). They are high in vitamin C and rich in manganese as well.
Tarragon helps in the inhibition of blood platelet aggregation, adhesion and secretion, helps the body to use insulin more effectively, helps to alleviate gastric disorders, is a natural sedative and contains eugenol, a natural anesthetic. Tarragon is also an excellent source of minerals like calcium, manganese, iron, magnesium, copper, potassium and zinc.
The idea for the unusual cocktail pick came from wanting something natural as opposed to a standard metal, glass or plastic garnish pick. I wandered out into my backyard and grabbed a nice twig off one of my Palo Verde trees. I knew they were not toxic and the twig was perfect for the concept. Then I thought of a bramble bush, because that's where blackberries grow, and it all came together!
