THE CHERRIES JUBILEE MARTINI So, what else would you drink on National Cherries Jubilee Day? Ingredients: Bacardi Torched Cherry© Rum, Fresh Bing Cherries, Kirschwasser, Cherry Brandy, Orange Juice, Agave Syrup, Whipped Cream Cherries Jubilee is a classic dessert that was popular in the 1950s and, thanks to Mad Men and all things nostalgia, is making a comeback to dessert time. Made with cherries and Kirschwasser (or Kirsch, a clear German cherry brandy), it is flambéed and served as a sauce - usually over ice cream. The recipe is the creation of famed chef, Auguste Escoffier, who prepared the dish for Queen Since the classic dessert is a flambé, I've used Bacardi's Torched Cherry Rum in my recipe in addition to the classic Kirschwasser and a little Cherry Brandy as brandy and cognac have also been used in the dessert recipe.
