I think my discovery of the Sparkling Pomegranate Juice I found at Trader Joe's absolutely makes this martini. Just remember, when you add a carbonated element you want to add it after shaking or you'll end up with a mini martini explosion in your bar area just like I did the first time I made a champagne martini!
