THE CILANTRO GINGER MARTINI
For spicing up Happy Hour.
Ingredients: Citrus Vodka, Simple Syrup, Fresh Cilantro, Lime Juice, Fresh Ginger, Soda
I am always out trying new martinis and when I happened to see a Cilantro Martini listed in a restaurant I ordered it. For some reason they neglected to put "ginger" in the name of the martini and I was a bit surprised when I took my first sip. I'm not a big lover of fresh ginger as it is often overused. A little fresh ginger goes a very, very long way!
That was the case with that first so-called "cilantro" martini. The ginger overpowered the cilantro, of course it all depends on how fresh your "fresh" ginger is too! If your ginger is truly fresh it's going to be strong so add a little at a time - this applies to food recipes as well as drink recipes.
I finally came up with a nice balance by using just a quarter of a teaspoon of fresh ginger, but if you love your ginger feel free to up the ante!
This Cilantro Ginger Martini goes absolutely great with Oriental dishes!
