THE FLUFFY NUTTY MARTINI
Drink your Fluffernutter on National Fluffernutter Day!
Ingredients: Castries Peanut Rum Creme Liqueur, Smirnoff Fluffed Marshmallow Vodka, Peanuts, Marshmallow Fluff, Mini Marshmallows
As Marshmallow Fluff or Creme has been around since the start of the twentieth Century, pretty much anyone alive now has had some of this sticky confection - either in fudge or in the classic school child's sandwich, the "fluffernutter." A fluffernutter sandwich consists simply of marshmallow fluff and peanut butter spread between two slices of white bread.
As a kid this was a particular gourmet treat for me. I loved the marshmallow combined with peanut butter way better than jelly. Add some chocolate and I was in sugar heaven!
My Fluffy Nutty Martini is a glass full of nostalgia with the peanut and marshmallow combination coming in a slightly more mature version. This combination of peanut rum and marshmallow vodka will bring back the icky, sticky joy of that childhood favorite, the fluffernutter sandwich with a little higher octane and a lot less messy!
BTW, National Fluffernutter Day is on October 8th.
