THE GREAT CAESAR'S GHOST HALLOWEEN MARTINI
Think Superman meets Julius Caesar in a Bloody Cocktail
Ingredients: Vodka, Clamato Juice, Tabasco, Worcestershire Sauce, Celery Salt, Pepper, Lime, Celery Stalk
The Great Caesar's Ghost Martini is a bit of a word and booze play on the classic cocktail, the Bloody Caesar which is a bloody Mary made with Clamato juice instead of tomato juice. I couldn't resist calling it the Great Caesar's Ghost Martini because I grew up on the old Superman TV show where Perry White would oft exclaim, "Great Caesar's Ghost!" in the midst of some crisis.
The origin of the actual phrase most likely comes from the writings of Plutarch regarding the life of Julius Caesar assassinated on the floor of the Roman Senate by friends and foe alike. It was said Caesar's ghost haunted Brutus, one of the assassins and a purported friend of the self proclaimed Emperor of the Roman Empire.
Either way, it's a bloody good cocktail and most appropriately bleeding in ghoulish color for your Halloween activities and happy hour fun.
