THE MILLIONAIRE APPLE MARTINI
A little cinnamon, a splash of Dom, a touch of gold for a Midas Touch!
Ingredients: Apple Schnapps, Goldschlager, Dom Perignon, Edible Gold Leaf Flakes, Cinnamon, Sugar
Is this the ultimate martini? I don't know, but it's certainly the most expensive I've ever made!
This martini actually has REAL GOLD in it - twice! There are gold flakes in the cinnamon flavored Goldschlager and gold leaf in the rimming mix. And, yes, gold is edible and used often in chi-chi pastries by uber pastry chefs.
It's also creeping into designer drinks in posh bistros and bars. I had this at a resort in Scottsdale and loved it. It's sort of an adult apple cider with a decidedly rich cinnamon kick and an addiction to these can drain your pocketbook faster than a closet full of Jimmy Choos or Monolo Blahniks! Especially if you add my garnish tips.
