THE TORCHED CHERRY LIME MARTINI
A Rum Martini with a little Smokin' Surprise from Bacardi©
Ingredients: Bacardi Torched Cherry© Rum, Sparkling Cherry Juice, Limeade, Drunken Cherries*, Lime Slice
Bacardi© has this truly unique and wonderful rum called Bacardi Torched Cherry©. It's made from Barbados Cherries and - here's the smoke surprise - torched aloe plant! It might seem an odd ingredient to bring to the party but it does seem to add a little something to the mix.
Of course, you can always go with the classics and do a cherry Rum and Coke (aka a Cuba Libra) - a Cereza Cuba Libra, if you will, but I've always been more fond of Cherry Soda than Cherry Coke so I went with Sparkling Cherry Juice instead of cola and used frozen limeade to bring a bit of acid to balance the sweetness of this cherry infused rum.
I garnished it with a lime slice but I also added a couple of Drunken Cherries for a nice little nibble at the end of the martini - in this case I soaked my Drunken Cherries with the Bacardi Torched Cherry© instead of Cherry Vodka. I soaked them overnight - I was planning ahead for this martini! They were so good they almost didn't make it to the martini.
